Effective Goal Setting and Priority Management in a Transit World 1 to 5 PM
TUESDAY, JUNE 25
Hiring and Retaining Great Transit Employees 8:30 to 11:30 AM
Business Etiquette for Transit Professionals:
The true leaders in transportation are the ones who share particular skills: the insight to communicate effectively and the ability to act professionally. With all the changes in technology, it has become easy to take shortcuts that cost us professionally. What are the new rules of etiquette for email? In this fast paced environment, how can we relate easily to everyone, present ideas with conviction and still emerge from almost every personal interaction successfully? This session offers the seven rules for electronic communication and provides valuable steps to remember names, communicate the right message with appropriate etiquette, and avoid three common handshake blunders.
Effective Goal Setting and Priority Management in a Transit World:
“I would get more done if the world would stop and leave me alone for 5 minutes!” If this is your mantra, then this session on setting effective goals and priorities is perfect for you. You will learn how to:
- Take control of your projects and know which ones are the real priorities.
- Handle with ease, the interruptions and unexpected demands created to destroy your careful scheduling
- Stop wasting time and get the clock working for you instead of against you.
- Stay cool, calm, and collected when the chaos is mounting and stress threatens your effectiveness
Hiring and Retaining Great Transit Employees:
Your transit organization is only as good as the people who keep it going. It is worth spending time evaluating and improving your company image, your recruiting and hiring process, and strategies to make employees feel valued and engaged. This session will provide tips and ideas to find and keep the right people working for you, now and in the future.
