What is your transit agency doing to prepare new leaders for the coming challenges? How are you cultivating talent today for tomorrow’s leadership opportunities within our industry?

Evolving trends and expectations are creating unparalleled opportunities and challenges for emerging leaders within our industry. PennTRAIN recognizes the role tomorrow’s transit leaders will play in the continued provision of public transportation in communities across the Commonwealth and is honored to offer a first-ever Emerging Leaders Course as part of our curriculum.

This day and-a half course will assist emerging leaders from all aspects of transit in PA in expanding and fine-tuning their leadership skills. Ideal participants include front-line supervisors; new, or soon-to-be, managers and executives; and future organizational leaders currently serving in various technical or professional roles in your agency.

In addition to tips to successfully navigate and embrace increasing levels of responsibility, this course includes opportunities to:

  • Hone cross-functional skills through case studies, group exercise and industry-related discussions;
  • Build valuable relationships with peers throughout the industry; and
  • Receive individualized, executive coaching onsite.

We hope the senior leadership of your transit agency will nominate 1-2 individuals to join us for this fun, engaging session. Together, we will cover tips and tricks for key topics such as networking, managing up, giving and receiving feedback, developing your brand, and much more.

For this inaugural course, we are offering a rate of $49 per participant (PPTA Cancellation Policy applies)Nominations for inclusion in this course will be accepted through Nov. 20. Agency GMs and CEOs are encouraged to submit up to two names, with the understanding that the course will be capped at 32-36 participants and any additions will be considered after the initial deadline on a space available, first-come, first-served basis. PennTRAIN will confirm attendees and invoice agencies for the $49 tuition Nov. 25. Contact Sara Bowden at sara@ppta.net or 717-234-7211 x101 to submit your nomination(s).

Please Note: Strong demand for this course could potentially drive the addition of a second class later in 2020.

Additionally, individuals attending this course will be welcome to stay, at no additional cost, for the first communications course that’s offered on Wednesday, December 4 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM (following the one-on-one coaching sessions described above), Communicating the Value of Transit to Diverse Audiences.
