Wednesday, May 13

  • 8 AM to 12 PM - Meritor Training
  • 12 PM to 1 PM - Lunch
  • 1 PM to 5 PM - Basic Diagnostics Class on Cummins Engines

Thursday, May 14

  • 8 AM to 11 AM - HVAC 609 Certification

Participants can register to attend one, two, or all three trainings according to their preferences & needs! 

Training Descriptions 

Meritor Trainings (May 13 - 8 AM to Noon)

Meritor staff will cover steer axle maintenance, cam brake maintenance, drive axle maintenance and review of wheel end maintenance. 

Basic Diagnostics Class on Cummins Engines (May 13 - 1 to 5 PM)

Attendees should bring their laptops loaded with INSITE software. Also, connection devises IN-LINE or equivalent. Attendees must be able to sign in to all programs listed, and all programs must be updated prior to class.

  • QSOL Presentation – Cummins Quick Serve Online: Service troubleshooting tool. Familiarization and usage.
  • Guidanz Presentation: Service trouble shooting tool. Familiarization and usage.
  • INSITE Presentation – Cummins software tooling. Familiarization and usage.
  • Update Participants – INSITE Software / INSITE Update Manager / Confirm QSOL Access
  • Class Participation – INSITE Simulator – Live Demo
  • Class Participation – Live QSOL Overview – Live Demo
  • Open discussion on subject matter
  • This class is designed for mechanics with little to no hands-on experience with Cummins INSITE.
HVAC 609 Certification (May 14 - 8 to 11 AM)

The presenter will review the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Manual and prepare attendees for the refrigerant quiz. The ASE Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Review and Quiz is an EPA-approved program that meets Section 609 regulations from the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990.

Immediately following the training, attendees will have the opportunity to complete a paper copy of the open-book quiz. Quizzes will be mailed to ASE for grading, and attendees who pass will receive their credentials within several weeks. Alternatively, attendees may complete the quiz online after leaving the training.


Cost: 
$49 per training. PPTA cancellation policy applies.

Parking: Free on-site parking is available at LANTA's office.

Lodging: PennTRAIN has secured a block of rooms at the Four Points by Sheraton Allentown Lehigh Valley, located at 3712 Hamilton Boulevard Allentown, Pennsylvania 18103. The block is available for the nights of May 12 and 13 at a discounted rate of $105 per night plus taxes and fees. Meals: A light breakfast and breaks will be provided on both days. Lunch will be provided on Tuesday only. Please inform Sara Bowden at sara@ppta.net of any dietary restrictions at least one week in advance.

Attire: Casual. Because it can be a challenge to keep the meeting room at a temperature that accommodates everyone, we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket to stay comfortable.
