        Date:  May 3, 2022, 10am – 11:30am

Learn how you can support the planning and design of safe, accessible, attractive, and connected bus stops in your community!  All trips on buses begin and end at bus stops; making bus stops a vital connection between public transportation and communities they serve. Ensuring bus stops meet the needs of all riders, transit agencies, and the community is essential in providing quality, efficient transit service.

To support planning and design of bus stops, the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association (PPTA) - Planning Committee worked closely with PennDOT to develop the Building Better Bus Stops Resource Guide.  This session will provide an overview of the Resource Guide, including tools and resources for bus stops in rural and suburban communities. You will learn about key components of bus stop planning and design, strategies for incorporating transit access principles into plans and ordinances, and ways to foster strategic partnerships that facilitate bus stop improvements.
