Transit managers are the most visible “face” of the agency and are frequently in a position to present the value of transit investment to stakeholders, customers and the media. They are also the person responsible for responding to critical incidents or problems at the agency. But they shouldn’t do this alone. Crisis communication is most effective when all agency units affected by the issue are involved. This session will focus on preparing senior leaders for communicating during a crisis, with a particular emphasis on working with agency communication staff.  Participants will develop skills to help them recognize and take advantage of the opportunities to present good news and effectively manage the message during a crisis.
